My Facebook Account Blocked - Could It Be for Documenting Digi Kft / One Service Issues?

When a major Social Media platform restricts you, but why me of all people, who's innocent in every way? And I've never even harmed an ant? Could it be for objectively sharing consumer opinions?

Platform affected: Facebook

Facebook group creation: April 16, 2025

Date of blocking: April 17, 2025

My recent activities: Objective documentation of Digi Kft / One problems, creation of "Service Problems in Hungary" group

Current status: Contact in progress

What Exactly Happened with My Facebook Account?

On April 16, 2025, after weeks of frustrating internet service problems, I established a Facebook group called "Service Problems in Hungary" with the goal of objectively documenting and sharing experiences with Digi Kft / One services and other domestic service providers. First, I shared a completely objective, factual description in the group's initial post about the problems experienced in the building at Haller Street 23-25, where originally simple packet loss and connection instabilities eventually led to a complete service outage.

To my astonishment, after creating the group, on April 17, 2025, practically from one moment to the next, without any prior warning, Facebook blocked my personal account. What's even more concerning is that the platform provided no specific explanation for the reasons behind the restriction. They did not indicate which content or specific activity violated their policies, but simply sent a very general notification about the account suspension.

My activities after creating the group lasted only 24 hours before my account was blocked. During this period, I exclusively did the following:

  • Created the public Facebook group "Service Problems in Hungary"
  • Shared an objective, factual account of my experiences with Digi Kft / One service
  • Invited some contacts to the group and wrote a short introductory post
  • Responded to some comments and questions

Connection or Coincidence?

The big question: is there a causal connection between documenting service provider problems and my Facebook ban? Or is it simply an unfortunate coincidence? We don't know exactly why the ban occurred, but there is suspicion that it might be related to my critical, although completely objective and factual posts about Digi Kft / One service. It's important to emphasize that this is just an assumption; I have no concrete evidence for this connection. I don't want to make unfounded accusations, so I think it's important to present the facts objectively so that readers can draw their own conclusions:

What we know for certain:

  • On April 16, 2025, I created the "Service Problems in Hungary" Facebook group
  • I formulated objective criticism about Digi Kft / One service in the group
  • On April 17, 2025, Facebook blocked my account without prior warning
  • Facebook did not provide a specific explanation for the reason of the ban
  • I had never previously violated Facebook's community guidelines

What we DON'T know:

  • What exactly was the reason for the ban according to Facebook
  • Whether someone reported the content or the group
  • Whether an automatic algorithm or human moderator decided on the ban
  • Whether there is actually any connection between the service provider criticism and the blocking

Taking the above into account, I think it's reasonable to raise the suspicion that the ban might be related to my criticism of Digi Kft / One service, but I cannot claim this with complete certainty. That's why in my communication with Facebook, I only refer to the facts and request a detailed explanation of what happened.

What Did I Do After the Ban?

After noticing the ban, I immediately took several steps:

  1. Contacting Facebook: I immediately appealed the decision through official channels, asking for a detailed explanation of the reasons for the ban.
  2. Using alternative platforms: I began sharing documentation of my experiences on other platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter).
  3. Updating my website: I decided to further develop this website so that I could document service provider experiences in a more independent way.
  4. Consulting with legal experts: I explored possible legal steps if the platform does not provide an adequate explanation.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the situation is that all these difficulties only strengthen my conviction that there is a need for an independent platform where consumers can freely and objectively share their experiences with service providers.

What can I do? The ban - however frustrating - gives me strength to develop and expand this website to become a real community platform for sharing service provider experiences.

What can you do? If you'd like to support the initiative, share your own experiences and help spread the message of the website to as many people as possible!

What Do You Think About This?

I'd like to involve readers in this conversation. What do you think about what happened? Could there be a connection between service provider criticism and the Facebook ban? Have you experienced anything similar? Although there is currently no possibility to comment on the website (this is one of the development plans), I welcome feedback via email or through the contact form.

Questions I'd like to hear your opinion on:

  • Do you think there could be a connection between criticism of Digi Kft / One service and the Facebook ban?
  • Have you experienced similar restrictions when formulating objective criticism about a service provider?
  • What features would you like to see on this website if I developed it further?
  • How could we effectively document and share service provider experiences without the restrictions of social platforms?

I believe that this unfortunate incident could become part of a larger social conversation about how major technology platforms influence the enforcement of consumer rights, and what alternative solutions are needed to ensure freedom of expression in the digital space.
